Privacy & security
Do my PDFs upload to a server?
Most tools run entirely in your browser with no upload. Advanced editing in PDF Editor can use secure temporary backend processing for features like OCR and complex edits.
How does on-device processing protect my privacy?
Every action - merging, rotating, stamping, converting - executes locally using your browser’s compute. For advanced editor workflows, a temporary backend job may be used and auto-deleted after processing.
Why does PDF Editor use backend processing for some features?
Some advanced edits are not reliably possible in browser-only mode. We use secure temporary backend processing for capabilities like OCR, true text replacement, and permanent redaction export.
What is your trust guarantee when backend processing is used?
Same trust and same security standards. Processing is temporary, encrypted, auto-deleted, and clearly disclosed so you always know when a workflow is local-only versus advanced backend-assisted.
Is my data tracked?
We collect minimal usage analytics such as page views when enabled. PDFs, filenames, and contents are never tracked or inspected.

Can I use OnDevicePDF offline?
Yes. Once loaded, most tools work offline. Installing the app caches key assets for continued use without internet access.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no hard limit. Performance depends on your device memory. Very large PDFs may take longer to load or process.
How do I reset if something gets stuck?
Refresh the page or reopen the tool. Because nothing is stored on servers, reloading clears the current session.
