How many PDFs can I merge at once?
There’s no hard limit, but very large merges (50+ files or 500+ pages) may strain browser memory on older devices. For best performance, merge in batches of 10-20 files and combine the results.
Can I merge password-protected PDFs?
No. Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked first. Use our Remove PDF Password tool if you have the password, then merge the unlocked versions.
Will bookmarks and hyperlinks be preserved?
Hyperlinks within pages are preserved. Document-level bookmarks may not transfer due to PDF-lib library limitations. Internal page references will work if pages stay in sequence.
Can I merge images with my PDFs?
Yes. Drop JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP or HEIC photos straight in with your PDFs and put them in any order you like. Each image becomes its own page, sized to match the rest of the document. If you only want images and no PDF, Convert Image to PDF gives each photo a page of its own size instead. Word documents still need a conversion first, with Word to PDF.
