  • Temporary editor jobs are time-limited, encrypted in transit, and auto-deleted.

  • Document contents are not used for ads or profiling.

1. Scope of this policy

This policy applies to information processed through OnDevicePDF websites, tools, and related support channels.

2. Information we process

  • Technical data such as browser type, device class, pages visited, and coarse diagnostics.
  • Operational logs needed for security, reliability, and abuse prevention.
  • Temporary file-processing data only when advanced editor features require backend execution.

We do not sell personal data. We do not use uploaded document content for advertising profiles.

3. How processing works

Most PDF operations execute locally using your browser compute and memory.

Advanced editor workflows, such as OCR and complex text changes, may use secure temporary backend processing. Those jobs are retained only as long as needed to complete editing and are automatically deleted.

  • No document contents are tracked in analytics.
  • Analytics are used in aggregate and can be blocked by browser or extension controls.

For local-only tools, files do not reach our servers. For advanced editor workflows using temporary backend processing, data is retained for short operational windows and then deleted automatically.

No method of transmission or storage is guaranteed to be perfectly secure, but we continuously improve controls.

13. Why backend processing exists for PDF Editor

Some advanced editing capabilities are not reliably possible with pure on-device browser processing today. Features like high-accuracy OCR, true text replacement, and permanent redaction export can require a dedicated advanced engine.

We adopted this path based on broad user acceptance and demand for these advanced capabilities, while keeping local-first processing as the default across the product.

Our guarantee: same trust, same confidence, same security standards. Temporary backend processing is clearly disclosed, encrypted, time-limited, and removable by the user.
