Change a PDF filename for free. Your file stays on your device.
Rename one PDF, or select several and name them all at once. No account or watermark. Editing the title and author is optional.

The filename identifies your download. The document title is stored inside the PDF and some readers show it in the browser tab. Changing one does not automatically change the other.
Change the filename
Scan0001.pdf becomes Project-notes.pdf.
Enter the new name and download. With document properties left off, the PDF bytes stay exactly the same.
Change the title inside the PDF
A reader may still show Untitled after you rename the file.
Enable document properties, change Title to Project notes, then reopen the downloaded copy in your reader.

This one-page sample contains fictional project notes. Rename the file, or change its internal title from Untitled to Project notes.

Check your browser’s downloads list or the folder you chose when saving. On a phone, look in your Files app’s Downloads area. Browser settings can change the save location. If a file with that name already exists, the browser may add a number to the new copy.
Your original file is not renamed or overwritten by the tool. Open the newly downloaded copy to check the result.
What stays unchanged?
Filename-only mode copies the original bytes, including existing protection and signatures. Optional property editing rewrites the document and can invalidate digital signatures. Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked before you edit their properties.
Clearing the four property fields is not complete sanitization. For a dedicated metadata-cleaning workflow, use Remove PDF Metadata. To remove visible sensitive information, use Redact PDF.
